Longest finger knitting, Bamford Primary School Craft Club, Derbyshire
"I just wanted to let you know how our craft club is going. All the year 3's and 4's are now able to finger knit!!! This week I have moved onto the year 5's and 6's and I thought we would try knitting with needles. The project that we are doing is for all the children to knit a strip - if you imagine the strip of paper that you would use for making a paper chain - and then looping them all together to make a knitted chain. We are using it to decorate the school Christmas tree. They are so excited about it." Claire Hoey, Bamford Primary School.

Learning to knit at 'Sknitch' (sewing, knitting, stitching), Clothes Show Live, December 2010
A visitor to the recent Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate had this to say: "I went to the show to look around at the crafts generally but knew where I wanted to go first. The show information highlighted the Knit 1 - Pass It On stand with the chance of having some hands-on help. Being a very novice knitter and my first time being shown how to knit, the lady was fantastic, giving me plenty of time but more importantly reassurance and encouragement. I walked away having learnt the purl stitch and was able to take the wool and needles with me to continue at home. Well done guys you made my day!"
