Opportunity Consulting - engaging web design

Opportunity Consulting is proud to have designed and built the following websites.

CarLife

CarLife websiteAn exciting new website for an exciting new client!

CarLife provides car concierge and car sourcing services with the aim of putting the fun back into buying and owning a car. CarLife creator Noel Cummins asked for a website that was direct yet understated, and reflected his passion for both cars and CarLife itself.

I am pleased with the simple, elegant results – which are matched by the simple, elegant address of carlife.co – and I am particularly happy with the text which we co-wrote. Noel and I will be developing the website further, and plan to make it a resource for current clients as well as a brochure for future customers.

Professional Coaching International

Professional Coaching International websiteHow exciting to be given the challenge of designing and building a website for an international coaching business boasting ‘tier one’ clients! Managing Director Shân Veillard-Thomas suggested a design influenced by luxury brands such as Chanel and Lanvin. Our overall aim was ‘simple, smart, professional’.

I am particularly proud of the classy results, which you can find at www.professionalcoachinginternational.com. Shân intends to develop the site further, with my assistance.

UKHKA Newsletters

UKHKA newslettersBeing a keen knitter myself, I was very happy to get involved with the UK Hand Knitting Association! The Association does such a great job at generating excitement about knitting and passing on knitting skills to the next generation. My small part in this is to build and distribute their monthly e-mail newsletters.

You can see some recent examples of newsletters here:

Merlin Locations

Merlin Locations websiteThe BBC Merlin Filming Locations website explores the beautiful filming locations used by the BBC show Merlin. This project is a bit of a team effort, and is 'just' for fun, but it's been a terrific way of learning about the possibilities available through using WordPress to build a website. I'm still not entirely sure we have the solution right, and perhaps this kind of site is necessarily a work in progress, but it's been interesting to think about how to structure the information, given that visitors may be approaching a location from a number of different angles.

Stay tuned for further developments in the website, for new filming locations, and indeed for the fourth season due to reach our screens in September 2011!

Terry Neason - Music & Motivation

Terry Neason - Music & Motivation websiteI was delighted to be given the opportunity to develop a website featuring Terry Neason and her music. Terry is a woman of many talents - a winning combination of keynote speaker, coach and diva! Her range of talents and rich experience could prove confusing to potential clients, however, so Terry wanted to separate out her music interests from her business site for TLC Powertalk.

The new site I developed for Terry to focus on her music interests is now at www.terryneason.co.uk. Terry is maintaining the site herself.

SJ Copy

SJ Copy websiteIt has been my pleasure to design and build a website for Fiona Seymour-Jesse of SJ Copy. Her previous site had served her well for two years, but was in need of a spruce up. Also, it had been created using a template, and Fiona wanted something a little more individual and professional to represent her copywriting business.

(Unfortunately, the new site is now unavailable on the web. Following a significant house move and a change in priorities, SJ Copy is no longer operational.)

Pete Murray

Pete Murray websiteMy site created in honour of Australian singer-songwriter Pete Murray. I named my business after his song Opportunity, so it’s probably obvious that Pete and his music mean a lot to me!

You can find the site at www.be-your-man.com.

The phrase ‘be your man’ comes from Pete’s song Please - one of his Top 5 songs, in my opinion! I went for an Australian feel here, featuring the images and colours of the coast and hinterland of New South Wales and Queensland.

Lee Hopkins

Lee Hopkins websiteIn 2007 I created and launched a website in honour of rugby league player Lee Hopkins.

You can find it at www.lee-hopkins.com.

I have a passion for rugby league, and Lee has long been a hero of mine, so this was a great deal of fun. The aim was to provide a tribute to Lee’s career, as well as some insight into the man himself. The site is particularly successful as a result of Ray Willmott’s excellent photography.

other web design work

I recently created fancies bright and dark, my own writerly journal, in WordPress - though for now it’s simply based on the default WordPress template.
